Why have I started to work as a freelancer web designer?

About me before I became a web designer

Hi, my name is Krisztina Pethő-Kovács, I’m a freelancer web designer. I live in Sopron, Hungary, near the Austrian border.

I am the type of person who always gives 100% in everything; I was pretty good at school, but I was not ready to choose a typical career, like lawyer or doctor. After graduation and after losing my mum at the age of 23, I started working at a company. After a couple of years I felt that something was missing, I was missing fulfilment of my own potential.

I was sure that the key to fulfilment was self realization and to get to know myself better so I started to ask important questions: What do I want from my life? Have I reached my dreams? What are my dreams? I wanted to see myself as I really am, full and content- outside the expectation of my family, my son, my husband and society.

I think every woman should take responsibility for their own dreams and find their passion in life. I had no idea how to rebuild my life after the age of 30, so I started to ask myself a lot of questions, listening to my inner voice constantly, reading books, trying different sports, looking for new opportunities, goals and dreams. This has changed my entire life. I was working for the same company for 12 years. When I quit, I felt that it was  time for a big leap of faith.

Why have I started to learn web design?

I always wanted to work on fresh and creative projects and I was sure that I wanted to be able to work from anywhere in the world in a job filled with opportunities for growing.

I have the desire to help people make their lives better.

I started a web designer course without any previous experience. At the beginning it was not easy at all. I spent hours and hours, days, weeks, months learning and practicing. I can admit I was struggling. There was a time when I thought I would fail. After halfway through the course, I went into a mentoring program, it was the first time when I realized that I express myself through web designing. Still, everyday I work hard on becoming a better designer. I am grateful for my mentor, who always inspired me to be better. At the moment I am learning WordPress coding and WooCommerce webshop coding. Meanwhile I am working on my own freelancer business, creating a portfolio and my own social media presence. Please visit my Instagram page:  https://www.instagram.com/krisztina_pkovacs/

In order to step out of my comfort zone, I have decided to start this blog in English. We never know what the future holds.

My mission

How can I help you as a web designer? My aim is to give you an efficient, reliable and customer-friendly design combined with a unique mood inspired by your company’s values and beauty. A website with the right design can really help customers fill their needs and improve their lives by finding a better solution to their problem.

There is a quote by the first female president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf: “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough”

The most difficult part of a new adventure is to overcome the fear of the unknown and the fear of failure.

I want to encourage you to be brave enough to discover the dreamer in yourself and despite all your excuses, start to work on turning your dream into actual steps, and start to create a life you always wanted but you have never allowed yourself to have.

Nowadays the online presence has become more important than ever. I am grateful for being able to work as a freelancer web designer, because it allows me to connect with people from all over the world. I custom create branding, logo and website design for you.
